For The Brokenhearted Ministry specializes in setting free, the Body of Christ, from the prison of bondage, lies, torment, curses, iniquity and unclean spirits (Isaiah 61:1). While our focus is to set each captive free through deliverance according to scripture (Matthew 5:7-8). We lead each Believer on their own personalized journey of sanctification (1Thess 4:3) through prayer and fasting (2Chron 7:14, Matt 17:21), repentance (Matt 3:8, Acts 3:19, 1John 1:9), laying down sin for righteousness (Proverbs 21:21, Tim 6:11), forgiveness (Matt 5:23-24, Matt 6:14), inner healing (Psalm 147:3), counseling (Proverbs 15:22, Proverbs 11:14), and discipleship (Matt 28:19) with a strong focus on the Word of God (Joshua 1:8).
We believe that The Truth (John 14:6) will set you free (John 8:32), so it is of high importance that we establish a foundation to equip and strengthen you with the Truth of God's word found in the Bible.

I was once lost but now I’m found; I used to be blind and today I see. I’ve walked some of the darkest alleys known to this earth, only to escape the valley of the shadow of death. There was a time I feared evil but simply because I walked alone. Not only did the Lord rescue me from the pit I dug for myself but he delivered me from evil too. "I sought the Lord and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears" (Psalm 34:4). He delivered me from a spirit of fear and other spirits like it. In return, “the Lord didn’t give me a spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). A passion to deliver others from bondage was born out of my own deliverance and from those ashes became the crown of a beautiful purpose. "The oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of depression" (Isaiah 61:3). Jesus said, “As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The Kingdom of Heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have diseases, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give” (Matthew 5:7-8). This ministry is a direct response to that request. |
A PURPOSE to bind up the brokenhearts, set captives free and release the prisoners from darkness (Isaiah 61:1). A PASSION to see others set free through deliverance and inner healing! Freely I received, therefore I will freely give (Matt 5:7-8). |
"Bind up broken hearts, set captives free, release prisoners from darkness."
~ Isaiah 61:1
I remember the first deliverance I led. I had been secretly devouring the scriptures that focused on Jesus teaching his followers how to drive out demons. Unlike most Christians in this country, I had never dismissed this topic or conveniently ignored Jesus' commission to "cast out demons" (Matthew 10:1, Matthew 10:8, Mark 3:15, Mark 9:38-39, Mark 16:17, Luke 9:1, Luke 10:17). On the contrary, his demonstrations intrigued me. Especially because I had been a broken woman desperately seeking my own freedom, kind of like Mary Magdalene in Luke 8:2.
In 2011, I had left a lucrative job in the corporate world. I heard Jesus ask me to "follow him," so I simply packed my bags that same week. When I said "yes" to him, there was an understanding this road would not look like the conventional ministry in America. It would resemble everything Jesus demonstrated in the Gospels with nothing left out. I had the option to look like everyone else or look like the one I followed. I chose the latter.
While I was secretly searching the bible for understanding on deliverance, I received a call from a Christian woman at the Baptist church down the road. “Holly, can I come to your prayer room for counsel?” We scheduled a meeting that week. As she sat across from me, her eyes were glossed over and unable to look at me directly. I knew shame was present but her desire to be free was stronger.
“I have nowhere to go and I have no idea who can help me. The Lord put you on my heart and I believe you will have an answer. I think I have demons that need to be cast out. Can you help me?”
If there were a video recording me at the time, you would have seen absolute shock written all over my face. How did she know I was secretly learning about this in my private time with God? Did I have something written on my forehead? Or could this be the result of God throwing me into something I thought was private? Leading up to this, I had been counseling women for at least ten years and I had never been presented with this request. I looked her square in between the eyes and told her that I don’t have a clue as to what I’m doing but if she was desperate enough I could apply what I had been learning with the authority Christ gave me (Luke 10:19). The worst thing that could happen is nothing and she walks away with lots of prayer. What did we have to lose, yet so much to gain? With desperation in her eyes, she pleaded with me to proceed. Within minutes of her renouncing sin, evil spirits quickly manifested. She began to sliver on the carpet of my prayer room floor and her lips contorted like a snake. My whole life I had believed in Satan and his kingdom but never had I seen it tangibly. Fighting the temptation to just sit and stare, I continued with the help of the Holy Spirit. One-by-one the spirits came out and when the last one left, my light fixture blew off its hinges along with the light bulb and crashed to the ground. We both stood there in shock, yet one of us stood there completely free and liberated. She felt like a new woman without hindrances keeping her from God. She praised the Lord relentlessly and left my prayer room full of joy. For years I counseled people and could only help them to a certain degree. Deliverance brought freedom to a whole new level. It's the prescription Jesus gave to his children who are brokenhearted and the captive who longs to be set free.
Since that first deliverance, the Lord catapulted me into this ministry. I've led more sessions then I can count. I've seen people get delivered from depression and no longer need their depression medication. I've cast out a spirit of suicide and the person never again has a suicidal thought. I have witnessed people get delivered of gluttony and lose 38 pounds in three months. The Spirit of addiction leave and the person never crave the substance or cigarette again. I've personally seen addiction, anxiety, suicide, fear, anger, rage, witchcraft, lust, pornography, infirmity, fatigue, confusion, control, pride, and many more be cast out and the person immediately experience freedom from those symptoms. Their mind no longer races and their ability to connect with God is no longer hindered.
Jesus said in Matthew 12:28, “If you cast out demons by the spirit of God, you will know the kingdom of God is upon you.” If you have been privileged to lead deliverance or you have been delivered, you won’t be able to read the bible the same. It changes you. It stretches you. It grows your faith.

"Desire change more than you fear it."
Casting out demons is a subject not usually spoken about at the dinner table. Sadly, deliverance is not brought up in the sanctuary at most churches either. Yet Jesus didn't bypass the need to address deliverance because it was a challenging subject that caused people to feel vulnerable or uncomfortable. Instead, the Gospel's are filled with testimonies of people receiving freedom and healing through deliverance of evil spirits (Matthew 8:16, Matthew 8:31, Matthew 9:33, Mark 5:8, Mark 7:26, Mark 9:25, Luke 4:35, Luke 8:29). Jesus often delivered a person right in the middle of the synagogue while he preached (Mark 1:21-28). He wasn't ashamed and neither should you. It is vital not to ignore or conveniently leave out this important piece of the Gospel in order to fit your narrative or comfort level (Deuteronomy 4:2). The focus should be towards the prisoner who we are called to release from darkness (Isaiah 61:1). Deliverance must be addressed so the captive can truly be set free, just as the Lord demonstrated it.
Did you know that Jesus cast out more demons than most any other demonstration of power during his three year ministry? He clearly gave authority to his followers to do the same (Matthew 10:1, Matthew 10:8, Mark 3:15, Mark 9:38-39, Mark 16:17, Luke 9:1, Luke 10:17). He encouraged us to know our enemy and gave us tools on how to defeat them (Ephesians 6:10-18). Nowhere in the scriptures are Believers warned not to learn about the strategies of the demonic or to defeat it by not casting them out. In fact, when the disciples saw someone else driving out demons, they urged Jesus to tell him to stop because he was not apart of the twelve disciples. Jesus replied, “Don’t stop him! For no one who does a miracle in my name can in the next moment say anything bad about me” (Mark 9:38-39). Perhaps the next time someone is tempted, like the disciples or the religious Pharisees, to tell a Christian to stop driving out demons. They will be reminded of what Jesus said in Mark 9, "Do not stop them!" One other thing, did you catch the revelation in Mark 9:38? Jesus refered to casting out demons... as a "miracle!"
Make no mistake, it's often the religious Pharisees of today that come against deliverance ministries. They are the first to try and stop what Jesus clearly demonstrated and then commanded all believers to follow (Mark 16:17). Interestingly, it was those same religious people that constantly came against Jesus for casting out demons, which later resulted in them killing him on the cross. One example is in Luke 13:10-17, after Jesus delivered a woman of an evil spirit that tormented her for eighteen years, the religious and legalistic rulers were indignant and spoke against Jesus for healing on the Sabbath. Jesus silenced them and called them hypocrites. He said, "You hypocrites! ...Should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?" When he said this, "All his opponents were humiliated, but the other people were delighted with all the wonderful things he was doing." Verse 17 clearly identifies these religious people as his "opponents." In Matthew 12:30, Jesus specifically says about deliverance, "Whoever is not with me, is against me." Be warned, that when you come against the work of the Holy Spirit through deliverance, you are against Christ and Jesus plainly calls it blasphemy in Matthew 12:22-32. If you notice the Bible also acknowledges in verse 17, "The other people who were delighted with all the wonderful things Jesus was doing." When a person gets delivered and they are genuinely set free, shouldn't that invoke excitement instead of criticism and doubt? Did you stop and consider talking to the person who is now free of addiction, infirmity, depression or suicide? Instead of mimicking the ones whom Jesus called hypocrites, respond like the others who are delighted in the wonderful things the Holy Spirit is doing. Rejoice, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
Before the resurrected Jesus ascended into Heaven, he spoke these final words, "These signs will follow those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons" (Mark 16:17). Who will cast out demons? Jesus confirms, all who believe in Christ. According to Jesus, the first sign that you are a believer in Christ is that you cast out demons. Let that sink in! When you cast out demons that will be a sure-sign you are witnessing the Kingdom of God invading earth. Remember Matthew 12:28 says, “If you cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then you will know the Kingdom of God has come upon you.” If someone accuses you of casting out demons by the prince of demons (Satan), remind them of how foolish that statement is. Jesus said directly to those naysayers, “That every kingdom divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand” (Matthew 12:22-28)?
The command to cast out evil spirits has not changed since Jesus ascended into Heaven, nor has the “Prince of the power of the air” (Ephesians 2:2) forfeited his right to demonize people. According to 1John 5:19, “We know that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. We also know that the Son of God has come and given us understanding” on how to defeat our enemy. Ephesians 6:12 gives us a wake-up call when Paul says, "We are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies (evil spirits). The evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against huge numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world." What an eye opening statement spoken directly from scripture. One of the main reasons Jesus came, was to destroy the work of the devil (1John 3:8). To ignore this dark Kingdom would be foolish; a trap the enemy would love for all to fall into. Hosea 4:6 says it perfectly, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." Take a look around the world, people are suffering and seeking freedom from bondage, including Christians. They are spending thousands of dollars on medication and counseling. Jesus didn't say to counsel or medicate a demon. He clearly said the remedy to get rid of an unclean spirit is to "cast them out” (Matthew 10:8) whether you feel comfortable with it or not. Perhaps people are scared to think a demon is tormenting them, so they would rather seek temporary relief in worldly remedies than to deal with the actual problem as Jesus demonstrated? People often say deliverance sounds scary. On the contrary, living with those demons tormenting you is what's scary. Making them leave is what's liberating!
The Gospel is always filled with good news. Which means when Jesus delivers you, not only are there no strings attached but it will be ever-lasting. "Who the Son sets free, is free indeed” (John 8:36).

Holly WrightHolly founded For The Brokenhearted Ministry in 2011 when she heard the Lord commission her through one single verse that changed the trajectory of her life... Isaiah 61:1 "The Spirit of the Lord God is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom for the prisoners." Holly began to answer this call through leading women's conferences and retreats, developing and writing bible studies, teaching, speaking, partnering with the Pregnancy Resource Center, ministering at The Freedom Place for rescued sex trafficked victims, counseling marriages and individuals. In order to fulfill the commission of 'setting the captives free,' Holly has focused on driving out demons, and healing the sick as Christ commands in Matthew 5:7-8 and Mark 16:15-18. For The Brokenhearted Ministry also specializes in equipping and training the body of Christ with knowledge on how to engage and fight in spiritual warfare. This ministry is apart of the remnant that is rising in America to push back against the fowler's snare of deception in the church and follow the lead of the Holy Spirit. Holly currently resides in Houston, Texas with her husband. Their two children are their greatest blessing and gift from God. |

What We Believe As a Ministry
- There is one God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is also known as the Trinity.
- The bible is the true word of God and there is no error found in it's pages. It was inspired by the Holy Spirit.
- "All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness ” (2 Timothy 3:16).
- Salvation comes by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ who will return to establish his Kingdom on earth.
- "It is by grace that you have been saved through faith and it is not of yourselves, it is a gift from God, not by works, so that no man can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).
- "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
- Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus” (John 14:6). Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the only way to eternal life.
- "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Jesus is that name!
- "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8).
- "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
- "If we conceal our sin, we will not prosper. But those who confess and renounce their sin will find mercy" (Proverbs 28:13).
- “Christ Jesus came into the world to save all sinners." He can fully redeem and powerfully use even the least likely (1 Timothy 1:15).
- God “is patient, not wanting any to perish but everyone to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).
- Every believer in Christ is the “temple of the Holy Spirit” (1 Corinthians 6:19).
- "These signs will follow ALL who believe. In Jesus' name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues, they will lay their hands on the sick and they will recover" (Mark 16:17).
- All the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit are active according to 1 Corinthians 12:1-11and for the Body of Christ today.
- "Christ gave every believer authority over all the power of the enemy and nothing by any means shall hurt them" (Luke 10:19).
- "Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be delivered" (Joel 2:32).
- "Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven" (Matthew 18:18).
- We have been “baptized by one Spirit into one body” (1Corinthians 12:13) and recognize the value and equality of all members of the body of Christ. We are “all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:29). We actively support the unity of ALL believers eclipsing all denominational, economic, or ethnic diversities.
- 1 Corinthians 12:15-20 "The body of Christ is not made up of only one part but of many. Now if the foot should say, 'Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,' it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. And if the ear should say, 'Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,' it would not for that reason stop being part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be? But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body."
